Episode 003 - Hope & Joy through Grief with Simone Black

In this episode of Life in 22 Minutes, Scott and Becky interview special guest Simone Black, a community outreach coordinator.  Simone is an upbeat, energetic mother and human being, but she wasn’t always that way.  At age 30, Simone Black lost her husband to cancer leaving her a single mother of three young children.  Despite the hardships and challenges that followed, Simone discovered beauty, hope and joy.  She shares helpful tips that not only assist in dealing with grief following the loss of a loved one, but tools that can be applied to all types of grief and loss.

Simone Black graduated from Brigham Young University in public relations. After working various part-time jobs while raising her three children, she went back to work full time at the family funeral home as the community relations director and has been there for almost 10 years. After spending her most valuable time with her family, she donates her time as a spiritual care volunteer at Intermountain Medical Center, as a hospice volunteer for Community Nursing Services and at her local church as a youth teacher.
